Direct Support Professional
Positions available in: Abingdon, VA – Full-time Farmville, VA – Full-time and Relief (PRN)
**Full-Time shift consists of 4 days on/4 day off (including overnights)
Job Requirements: This job requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. College degree in education or mental health preferred. Some experience or education in the field of Human Services, health care or special education preferred. Experience in working with adults with developmental disabilities. Emotional maturity and patience to understand and accept the social, psychological and emotional needs of adults with developmental disabilities in residential care is critical. Must be over 21 years of age, possess a good driving record and a valid Virginia driver’s license. Must have the ability to represent HopeTree Family Services in a positive manner.
Job Summary:
The Direct Support Professional is responsible for all aspects of a resident’s well-being on a continuing basis by providing a secure and responsive environment in order that each resident may be enabled to maximize his/her physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual capabilities. The Direct Support Professional is also responsible for the day-to-day operation of the group home.

Residential Care Supervisor
Position available in Fredericksburg, VA Hours: Monday – Friday (37 ˝ work week) on occasion additional hours may be required.

 Teacher
Position available in Salem, VA Hours: Monday – Friday (37 ˝ work week)
Job Requirements: This position requires no less than a Bachelor’s Degree in education from an accredited college or university. A current license to teach at the middle and secondary education levels with an endorsement in secondary math is required. The teacher must be able to demonstrate the professional ability to deal effectively with a wide range of student dysfunctional behaviors and academic deficiencies. The teacher must demonstrate the ability to represent HopeTree Family Services to the community at large in a positive manner.
Job Summary:
The HopeTree Academy Teacher will provide social, moral, and academic opportunities for learning. The teacher will maintain a close working relationship with the Education Director, the Educational Supervisor, the Lead Teacher, and the other members of the educational staff. The teacher will communicate with and work cooperatively with child care and social work staff to ensure optimal direct supervision of all students.

W.O.O.D.S. Residential Counselor
Position available in: Craig County, VA Hours: 3 days on/3 days off including overnight
Job Requirements: The Residential Counselor shall have a bachelor's degree in human services; an associates degree and 3 months experience working with children; OR a high school diploma or GED and have 6 months experience working with children. He/she must demonstrate the leadership, knowledge, skills and abilities to carry out program goals and objectives and have demonstrated through previous life and work experiences, an ability to maintain a stable environment and to provide guidance to children in the age range for which he/she will be responsible. Residential Counselors must be at least 21 years of age.
Job Summary: The Residential Counselor will provide social, behavioral, vocational and academic opportunities for learning. As child care worker, primary counselor, teacher, the individual will facilitate the day-to-day schedules, groups, discipline and progress of students within the program. The individual will document all information as called for by the licensing agent, licensing standards or program guidelines. The Residential Counselor will maintain a close relationship with teachers and supervisors. The incumbent will participate in the planning and carrying out of adventure-based activities and trips. In addition they will be responsible for:
Overseeing physical care.
Development of acceptable habits and attitudes.
Management of residential behavior.
Helping to meet goals and objectives of any required service plan.
